Home Accents Today Editor’s Pick

My Poppy floor lamp caught Home Accents Today editor’s eye and was awarded the HAT Editors Pick during Winter 2024 Lightovation in Dallas. Only 3 products were chosen out of the entire market.

”The Poppy floor lamp from Kalco Lighting is handmade in the Philippines from abaca rope (the same used on ships), so it is strong and waterproof. The design, available as a pendant or as a floor lamp (with an acacia wood base) is being adapted for outdoor use.”

“Colorful. Although there were plenty of colored glass shades in lighting showrooms, Kalco’s geometric Chroma collection took the cake. Pink, green, blue and orange metallic-like hues can be seen in its dichroic, iridescent glass, which is held by brass arms branching off a ribbed stem and white marble base.

We weren’t the only heads turned by the punchy fixture — it was selected by Andmore’s TrendWatch program to feature in its Brights & White display.”

Better Homes & Gardens Lighting

Spring 2023 Issue

Four of my fixtures were featured in the Spring 2023 “Better Homes & Gardens Lighting” magazine.

I was also quoted in the magazine:

“Fixtures don’t need to fade into the background. ‘Color in light fixtures is a beautiful way to tie a room together from floor to ceiling,’ says Grace Denniston, product designer, Kalco Lighting. ‘Color can unify and repeat the language of the space, or it can be a bold accent that completes the whole look.’”

Glass Acts: “Layered Firenze crystals, finished in a champagne gold for warmth and richness, lend a luminous flair to the Cometa chandelier by Kalco, a pendant with boho-chic intentions.”

Verdant Variety: “The avocado green shade of the Flor by KALCO suits the pendant’s floral silhouette, which tells a single color story from petal to canopy.”

“Natural inspiration also took a crystalline shape this season. Pieces of what looked like quartz (or dead ringers for it) were integrated into fixtures for a more earthy take on the traditional cut-glass chandelier.

This outdoor wall sconce from Allegri Crystal by Kalco Lighting’s new Esterno Cristallo collection features clear Firenze crystal spires backlit by LEDs.”
