Esterno Cristallo Outdoor Crystal
Winter 2022 Release
This collection of outdoor crystal pieces provide art, beauty, and functionality to the outdoor areas of the home. It’s rare to see crystal light fixtures outside, and it was a challenge to figure out how to make them weatherproof and low maintenance. These pieces had to be water and saltwater resistant too, which led to the addition of new water resistant LED drivers and a special weatherproof matte black finish.
Arpione Cristallo
This family was designed with the idea of museum art and sculpture in mind. Multiple LED pucks shine down on cut crystal rods, highlighting their many angles. A honeycomb patterned louver is installed over the LEDs to block glare.
The challenge with this family specifically was to make each crystal rod lean the way I wanted without it resting against the sides of the box. A plate at the bottom has laser cut holes to hold each rod and I numbered each hole/crystal combination so it is easy to install.

Glacier Cristallo
By far the flashiest of the bunch, this family flaunts multiple tiers of triangular crystals. They lean whichever way they feel like, creating an abstract, chiseled appearance.
This family has an uplight and downlight in the center of the fixture (as opposed to in the top and bottom of the frame) which caused a big dark spot where no light was hitting the crystals. I worked on creating a chrome reflector plate shape able to reflect enough light to make the dark spot disappear.
Cylindro Cristallo
I specifically wanted to design one family that was simple and clean. Cylindro is a double layered column on hexagonal crystal rods, and while the look is simple, it shows off the refractions of light. There is an uplight and downlight to create an even glow.
